Total E&P UK award new maintenance and operations contract

Assignment: photograph a group of 21 workers during lockdown taking into consideration social distancing and other safety measures.

One of the things I like most about commercial photography is having to think on my feet to come up with solutions for the challenges set in front of me. This was certainly the case for a recent assignment up at the Shetland Gas Plant run by Total.

Ponticelli, Brand and Semco joined forces in 2019 to establish “PBS by Ponticelli”, an Aberdeen-based integrated services consortium led by Ponticelli.

In January 2020, PBS was awarded by TOTAL E&P (UK) a long term General Maintenance & Operations Contract (GMOC) to provide technical services (engineering, construction, general maintenance, fabric maintenance and operations support) to all its assets in the United Kingdom Continential Shelf (UKCS).

The photographs were taken to mark the start of PBS by Ponticelli's new five year contract. Despite the social distancing requirements and downpour of rain, I managed to come away with a variety of images, two of which are displayed here.
