Sarah Kay is a Shetland based artist who creates original artwork and jewellery inspired by the beauty of Shetland.
I was recently commissioned by Sarah to photograph a series of large resin Shetland seascape pieces to use as product shots on her website https://sarahkayarts.com.
Colour management was a key element of this assignment allowing prospective customers an accurate preview of each piece of art.
The 6mm thick plywood board, with a super gloss finish, proved a lighting challenge to avoid reflections.
As well as these pieces of resin artwork, Sarah sells Buttons, Keyrings, Printwork/Cards, Paintings, Jewellery, Sea Glass, Spoons and Cones – all available on her website.
On returning the resin artwork to Sarah in Scalloway, my 2.5 year old daughter and I were treated to a tour of Sarah’s garden which is named ‘Highlands’. There really is something for everyone. My daughter particularly enjoyed seeing the frogs and tadpoles in the ponds.
Finally, Sarah has a regularly updated blog at https://sarahkayarts.com/blog/ for latest news on what she’s up to – well worth a look.
Thank you to Sarah for getting me involved.
