Mary & Simon’s Lerwick Wedding

Mary and Simon married on Saturday 25th July at the Lerwick Baptist Church followed by a reception at the Sound Hall.

After photographing the hall, which had been creatively decorated in a beach theme, I met Simon at the Hillhead with his best men Colin and Phil.

My next port of call was to Scalloway to meet with Mary and her bridesmaids Jennifer, Joy, Lois, Becki and Emma, not forgetting flower girls Anna and Prasheeta.  Everyone looked lovely, particularly Mary in her elegant wedding dress.  

The marriage took place at the Lerwick Baptist Church and I must admit I had goosebumps when the congregation rose and sang for the first time.  The combination of singing, acoustics and musical accompaniment was absolutely fantastic.   

After a photo shoot at the Sands of Sound, the evening reception took place at the Sound Hall.  One of many highlights on the day was Colin and Phil’s shared best man’s speech with their adapted rendition of McFly‘s ‘It’s All About You’.  After an excellent buffet, Da Fustra provided the evening entertainment.
