Well done to Ross Mackenzie whose image (below) was chosen as this year’s winner of the Shetland leg of Worldwide Photo Walk 2013.
As you’ll see, there were some really strong images submitted so choosing the winner was difficult.
Ross’ image stood out for a number of reasons. The rock face is a nice compositional tool to frame the main part of the scene; Ross has also managed to expose correctly for the sky (highlights) but kept detail in the foreground (shadows) which can often be a challenge.
Ross wins a digital photography book for his efforts and will go forward to be in contention of winning the overall grand prize which is chosen from all winners from around the world.

Thank you to everyone to took part and I hope all photographers enjoyed the event.
