Shetland Photography - Out & About # 11

The image was taken from Fladdabister looking out towards Bressay.  In Shetland you often hear the expression that we’ve experienced “four seasons in one day” as the weather can change so rapidly.  Well, the day I took this photograph was no exception.

I’m always hunting around for interesting foregrounds to add some depth and dimension to my photographs.  I was very fortunate to have this beautiful rainbow appear after a heavy shower giving extra impact to the image.  The bright yellow buttercups in the foreground suggest that summer may just be with us…

P.S.  Thankfully I have all my camera kit still intact.  In the excitement of running up and down hills to capture the photo I didn’t realise that one of my lenses had fallen out of my camera bag en-route – oops!
